Commercial License

Requirements

250 hours of flight time, 100 hours of which must be in powered aircraft, with at least 50 of those hours in airplanes.

Pilot in Command

100 hours of pilot-in-command (PIC) time. This is when you are the one the one responsible for the safe operation of the flight. At least 50 hours of this must be in airplanes.

Cross Country

50 hours of cross-country flight time in airplanes, 10 of which must be in airplane. Including:

  • One 2-hour cross-country flight in daytime conditions, covering a straight line distance of more than 100 NM from your origin.
  • One 2-hour cross-country flight in nighttime conditions, covering a straight line distance of more than 100 NM from your origin.

Instrument & TAA

20 hours of specific training, including 10 hours of instrument training and 10 hours in a complex or Technically Advanced Aircraft (TAA)

Solo Flight Time

10 hours of solo flight time or performing the duties of pilot in command with an authorized instructor in a single-engine airplane. In which must include:

  • One cross-country flight at least 300 NM total, with landings at a minimum of three points, one of which is a straight-line distance of at least 250 NM for the original departure point
  • 5 hours in night VFR conditions, including 10 takeoffs and 10 landings at an airport with an operating control tower
